BIOPROTA is a collaborative research Forum, managed and supported financially by a Sponsoring Committee. The Sponsoring Committee is coordinated by a Chairperson. The current chairperson is Sven Keesman from the National Cooperative for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste (Nagra).

Administrative and technical support
GMS Abingdon and Eden Nuclear and Environment have been appointed to provide administrative and technical support to the sponsoring committee, project leaders and participants. SKM Enviros provide website management services in support of this function.
