Se-79 Phase II: Improved dose assessment models for Se-79 in the soil-plant system

A phase II programme of work on the behaviour of selenium-79 in the environment is currently underway. The objectives are to:

• examine the quantitative significance of the key FEPs identified in phase 1, for different assessment scenarios;
• identify the advantages and disadvantages of different modelling approaches;
• identify the site-specific data needed to support the application of suitable assessment approaches; and
• identify further research needs
